After finishing medical school at Bristol University in 2006, I moved to North Devon. I joined The Wooda Surgery as a partner in 2012. Dr Jess Danielson and I were married in 2015. We now work as a job share. I’m interested in how we organise healthcare locally and am currently the Lead Partner for the practice.

Since qualifying I have worked in ophthalmology, gynaecology, outpatients, as a community nurse and for Devon Doctors out of hour’s service. I joined Wooda Surgery practice nurse team in 1994 and since then have undertaken further training to develop my role as a nurse practitioner. I am particularly interested in Diabetes, Hypertension, Asthma and minor illness.

After graduating in 2016, I worked in Bristol on a Surgical admissions and recovery unit before returning home to the beautiful North Devon. I then worked in NDDH before joining the wonderful Wooda team in March 2019. I have completed my foundations in primary care course and more recently a masters module in minor illness. I look forward to undertaking my non-medical prescribing in the future. At my weekends I like to parkrun and go for sea dips.

The Receptionists are here to signpost patients to the most appropriate service within Primary Care. The Receptionist will need to understand the basic reason for the contact and will ask some key questions to ascertain this. The Reception team also keep medical records in order, manage clinical correspondence and administer the prescription process. Their job is incredibly demanding so please be kind.
